Welcome to the Modern Built Environment KTN (MBE KTN)

Welcome to the 'Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network'. It aims to stimulate increased innovation and support its effective implementation for business benefit in the modern built environment.

Join the MBE KTN and get involved with showcasing potential innovations and forming new collaborations with the leaders of industry. The MBE KTN helps you to demonstrate the economic benefits of innovation through identifying industry-led challenges, facilitating access to funding opportunities and connecting you with other MBE KTN members. Please register to access the full functionality of this site.

Please log in to access the entire MBE KTN site - guest access is limited and in particular doesn't contain the outputs of the many events hosted by the MBE KTN.

Delivery Team

The MBE KTN Delivery Team aims to bring together organisations to take part in or benefit from activities to stimulate increased innovation across the built environment supply chain for real business benefit.

Challenge Themes

ENERGY & CARBON EFFICIENCY
This is a topic which is at the heart of zero carbon agenda, druiven by the need to reduce carbon emissions as wel as energy bills and the continued reliance of overseas energy supply. More...

PROCESS EFFICIENCY
Low impact buildings must be built efficiently and then operated well to deliver the targets set for them, and the impact of the industry itself will equally be reduced if its operations are cost effective. More…

CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION
Focus for the MBEKTN will centre around key aspects which primarily influence the UK, adapting to hotter summers and potentially wetter winters but also managing the continued extremes of water availability. More…

LIFE EXTENSION & RETROFIT
With the increased realisation that the UK has an aging infrastructure and building stock which has to be maintained rather than replaced. There are strong drivers to tackle performance improvement, both mechanical and functional. More...
